Review: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Nude Collection

Rimmel, you've done it again.

So after a number of longgg weeks testing all these shades, I can finally write my review! For all of those who love nude and afforable lipsticks, I think Rimmel might have just nailed it. With 5 shades in their Lasting Finish by Kate Nude Collection, there are hues to match every skin tone. For those interested, my favourite colours are 45 and 48.

What Rimmel say:
Dare to go bare!
  • Embrace the new nude trend…. chic, stylish and sophisticated …like Kate!
  • Up to 8 hours of long lasting nude colour.
  • There is a nude for every girl! Find your perfect nude.
Scent:
Similar to other lipsticks in the Rimmel range, they all have that familiar vanilla scent. When I started collecting makeup years back, Rimmel had some of my favourite lipsticks. I owned A LOT of their products so as you could imagine, when I first opened these, the whiff of the vanilla made me feel a bit nostalgic. Lol.

Texture:
Anyway back to the lipsticks (hehe), the formula is smooth and creamy. I find them relatively moisturising and very similar to the texture of the other Rimmel lipsticks. They aren't slippery or tacky at all. I do find that when I have very dry lips, the lighter nudes tend to emphasise flakes, so be sure to moisturise with a lip balm beforehand.

Longevity:
They are long lasting... if you don't smack your lips too often or eat/drink. Rimmel mention that they last up to 8 hours. It may be true if you're not doing a lot of talking, eating or drinking. However, I feel that for a typical person, it may not last 8 hours. For me, on an average work day, they lasted about 2-3 hours before reapplication is needed but this isn't a big deal to me.

Pigmentation:
The pigmentation is ok. They aren't crazy pigmented like Urban Decays lippies, however they are more pigmented than a tinted lip balm. Since they're made for that Nude type of look, the pigmentation is perfect enough to make you look fresh faced and natural.

Pros:
- Scent
- Colour range
- Price and accessibility
- Packaging (the pinky peach is so cute)
- Texture

Cons:
- Emphasises dry flakes
- Not as long lasting as other lippies I've tried
In summary, these lipsticks are perfect for those who like their makeup quite natural. Definitely recommend trying these out especially if you're looking for a nude.
